What I do.
My therapeutic style is warm, creative and adaptable. I create a space where you can feel safe, understood and accepted.
I focus on your strengths. I help you identify what you are doing well and build on those abilities.
My specialist skills can help people of all ages and abilities to express their thoughts and feelings creatively. This can involve art, role play, movement, games and stories.
I use evidence-based therapies like EMDR psychotherapy for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and other mental health problems; AutPlay Therapy for children and adolescents with neurodiversity, and focussed psychological strategies approved by Medicare that are proven to be effective.
Depending on your individual needs, these can include: Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), EMDR, relaxation strategies, psychoeducation; and skills development in problem solving, anger management, social skills, communication, stress management.
My person-centred therapy approach can be described as eclectic and draws from a range of modalities like Cognitive Therapies, Brief Solution Focussed Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness, Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), Sensori-motor Psychotherapy and trauma sensitive yoga.
